After a Brief Pause...

Phew! well a lot happened between the last blog update and this one but I won't try to put it all into this post as it would be a mile long.

Ok I think we left off at the Mets game back in August. the next stop on our tour of the US of A was a trip to Erin's hometown in Maryland.

Mikey and I hired a convertable PT Cruiser and drove the girls down south for some Crabs and family fun.

the girls went nuts at a truckstop with some novelty teeth

The road trip in the convertable was awesome, a must if you plan on driving from NY to Baltimore... as you do.

Pretty much all we did was eat the famous local crabs. They are basically Blue Swimmers and are steamed with a salty spice mix and taste bloody great.

One of the local footballers was out for a Sunday drive in his runnabout. Jesus I bet it costs a fortune to pay for fuel for that thing!

Erin's wonderful family were so hospitable and even included Margie in Erin's sister Casey's birthday party.

Maryland was a great trip made great by the the awesome people we met down there. If you're reading this guys, Thanks for everything!

Let's Go Mets

As a surprise for Margie's impending Birthday (this was the week before) Mikey and Erin organised tickets to a New York Mets game for us all so off we went.

It was a great game and made fans of us, the Mets won with a double play in the last inings.

A highlight for us was when we were being scanned to go through margie was allowed to go in with out being scanned as the guy thought she was pregnant... she was wearing an empire line top but somehow the guy survived.

We had a few beers and a hotdog, above you can see margie pointing to the sign that says pregnant women shouldn't drink.

Times Square

On of our first adventures out was to Times Square. it was a sweltering day which was a far cry from the snow last time we were there.

A major highlight for me was having my photo taken with Optimus Prime in Toys 'R' Us.

First Days in New York

After a tearful goodbye to our flatties Margie and I arrived at the airport and met Armgard who had come to see us off. We had some fortune at the desk when we were upgraded to Super-Economy (Or what ever it's called, sort of in between business and Zoo class) this was great news as I wasn't feeling too hot.

We arrived to a very excited Mikey and Erin eating dinner and generally happy to see us.

The next few days generally involved me lying down in bed and the guys hanging around and after a trip to the hospital it turns out I had pneumonia, so we got some drugs and cleared that up. Onward to enjoy New York.

Mikey, Erin and Eric live in an amazing apartment in the financial district on the 26th floor and we took some great shots off the balcony.

Once I was finally able to make it outside we headed down to the South Street Seaport to enjoy the 35 degree heat.

Final House Farewell

Our 'last supper' with our beloved flatties was held on our last night in the UK.
We did it in style starting with a bottle of Moet and then on to the best Thai in London at the Blue Elephant.

Margie and I were a bit partied out after a solid month of awesome farewell drinks, dinners and parties so it was a pretty quiet night with only the occasional lychee Martini.

Damo, Nic, Mel and (honorary flattie) Sarah we miss you guys already.
