...Let Us Rejoyce!

Another Australia day in London, another trip to a Walkabout. Yep we've been to one only once before and it was 365 days before this time. I think it's enough.

We had a great time with the flatmates and co and drank many of the 'traditional' Aussie drink Snakebite... Yeah we'd never heard of it either before coming here. it basically a cheap nasty beer/cider mix with Black current juice to make it palatable.

I know Mum, not funny or clever but it got us drunk and I'm pretty sure that was the point.

Even our resident Kiwi got in on the action and could be seen with the aussie flag draped over his shoulders and a fosters hat on... he must be interested in our dole too ;)

Damo and I didn't realise at the time but this was a bit of a Brokeback Mountain moment ;)

SNOW!

In the wee hours of the morning it started to snow here in London. We've been waiting to see a white winter for ages and when Bella woke us up at 6:30 to tell us this morning (thanks for that Bella) we saw that it had finally arrived.

All the flatties were up this morning early staring out the windows in wonder and each of the girls let out a little squeel as they opend the door and left for work. Well, it is rare for us Aussies (and Kiwi) to see this white stuff.

Crabs, Legs, Chips & Prawns

So it appears that there's been a bit of downtime on the blog and that's our fault. Mainly for not doing much interesing and mostly for being too slack to put any updates up.

It's finally getting cold here and it looks like we'll have a propper winter after all (it is -1 right now) we may even see some snow!

Over the past couple of weeks we have been keepin busy with the following:

Mel and Nic, 2 of our lovely flatties

BIG lunch at the Big Easy for Nic's birthday. They have the biggest American style meals and the food is beautiful.

Next up was Margie's friend Erica's Hen's afternoon/night. the girls spent the afternoon learning to Pole dance (Who wouldn't have wanted to be a fly on the wall for that!?!) and drinking/telling cocktails.

Didn't think I could go wrong with 2 photos from this event. It also turns out that Jodie might have a career to fall back on when her journo days are over, she's quite the poledancer ;)

While the girls were out having fun we fellas had a poker night.
Damo pulled an amazing 4 of a kind to beat a Full house for the win and I somehow managed to sneak in second.

crappy camera phone pic, forgot the real camera Oops.

Finally we had a brilliant night out with Japanese for dinner for Damo and Mel's birthday.

Not long now 'till Brodie and Nicoles wedding in Briz Vegas so we'll be seeing most of you Harris family types there!

The Rest

The rest of the time in Devon we spent the time relaxing and seeing a bit of the countryside.

Hanging out at the beach

We started with a cliffside drive and got our first real look at the Atlantic Ocean.

We saw the local seaside villiages and spent one day in Cornwall visiting a 13th century castle dig site and ruins in a beautiful forest.

Finally after a tasty Cornish pasty in Cornwall we watched the sun set over the Devon coastline by some ancient tower ruins.

Christmas Day

Santa Was very kind to us in Devon.

After the Huge breakfast and presents we set to the task of making our Christmas Lunch.

The lunch (roast lamb and veggies) took us about 3 hours to cook and about 10 minutes to eat as it tends to I guess.

After lunch (this would have been about 5pm) we set to the next task, drinking the huge stash of beer, wine and spirits we wought with us... We put fair dint in it.

And finally here's a pic we all took especially for you Mikey

There are a heap more photos of the whole trip up here, here and here.
