After a mission to find a Lindt Bunny on Easter Sunday, we jumped on a ferry and vistied the Peggy Guggenheium collection.
Then it was time for our much anticipated Gondola ride!
It was then time to capture the beautiful sites of Venice as the sun set...

My perfect day in Venice
On Saturday we caught a ferry over to the small island of Marano.
We had planned to have a big day of sightseeing and museum visiting, however on the way to one museum we stumbled across an absolutly divine restaurant on the water and blew the budget on an amazing seafood lunch and some fabulous wine!
We bought some succulent strawberry's from a lovely Italian man on a boat and passed the afternoon shopping for some glasswear!
That night we set out to get test the camera on night mode and got some cracking shots...
Then it was back to the hotel for some cocktails and a few games of cards! It was the perfect day!

Great Friday in Venice
We had booked our trip to Venice so long ago that we almost forgot we were going (well, not really we were super excited the whole time).
We snuck out of work a little early and made it to the airport with plenty of time to spare (we didn't want any tragedies befalling us like on our attempted trip to Paris Disneyland).
After a bit of research we found the best way from the Marco Polo airport to the islands of venice and then our hotel. By this stage we were knackered so we decided it would be best to grab a pizza and a stiff drink and hit the hay.
The next day we embarked on an eppic journey along the entire length of the Grand Cannal, from our hotel to St Marks Square.
It was a long walk and we had to stop for refreshments along the way, Pizza wa on the menu everywhere so we thought we should give it a try.
Eventually we made it to St Marks Square via some very beautiful scenery. And again it was time for some refreshments this time at ont of the many overpriced people watching cafes surrounding the square. We enjoyed our Perroni's whilst watching the mostly American tourists wander by and listening to the orchestras playing around us.
We took the tour of the St Mark's Basilica and decided a Ferry ride back might make more sense than doing the walk again.

The Tower of London
On what turned out to be a rare warm sunny Sunday Annabel, Andy, Margie and I decided to take in some local history and make the trip into the Tower of London.
We walked around the historic grounds led by a real live Beefeater and got all the gory history.
We also got to see the Crown Jewels where we sadly couldn't take any photos.
After seeing more suits of armour, swords and cannons than we could poke a stick at we decided it was time for lunch and we all headed to a nearby pub for some woodfired pizza.
As always we have more photos here
