Great Friday in Venice

We had booked our trip to Venice so long ago that we almost forgot we were going (well, not really we were super excited the whole time).

We snuck out of work a little early and made it to the airport with plenty of time to spare (we didn't want any tragedies befalling us like on our attempted trip to Paris Disneyland).

After a bit of research we found the best way from the Marco Polo airport to the islands of venice and then our hotel. By this stage we were knackered so we decided it would be best to grab a pizza and a stiff drink and hit the hay.

The next day we embarked on an eppic journey along the entire length of the Grand Cannal, from our hotel to St Marks Square.

It was a long walk and we had to stop for refreshments along the way, Pizza wa on the menu everywhere so we thought we should give it a try.

Eventually we made it to St Marks Square via some very beautiful scenery. And again it was time for some refreshments this time at ont of the many overpriced people watching cafes surrounding the square. We enjoyed our Perroni's whilst watching the mostly American tourists wander by and listening to the orchestras playing around us.

We took the tour of the St Mark's Basilica and decided a Ferry ride back might make more sense than doing the walk again.
