The Home of Cricket

Last week Marg and I were given free passes to Lords to go and see the test match between England and Sri Lanka (thanks Marg's work!)

We arrived about 1pm while the players were having lunch. This is also the time that almost everyone decides to get out their picnic rug and have a picnic on the grounds... even though it was 8 degrees at most and overcast.

Going to the cricket at Lords is not the same as going to the SCG, while there is still beer and fans the overall affect is diferent. Instead of blokes in singlets with coloured wigs on yelling at the field there are old men in sports jackets politley clapping each run and good ball.

England were on top of the game and looked like winning comfortably (not that we really cared either way) and in the end it was just too cold to hang around all day so we pulled the pin 1 hour before the end of play and as it turns out 1/2 hour before the sun came out.

Still rollicking over the 'commoner' episode in stockholm. Still think that you should put on airs, and just as they think they've worked it out, along comes the limo that you've ordered.... hee.
I just bought some new shoes for the wedding (wooo!) (in a bit of spending mood). Working like a dog as per usual, not much changes. Cheers & beers,
