So, we were walking home after yesterday's update and as we pass a local bar we hear the strains of the Australian national anthem coming from within. Hand on heart we entered the pub, being the patriotic citezens we are it would have been rude not to (plus we were stinging for a beer). We walked in to find that the State of Origin decider was being shown LIVE.We grabbed a seat and a Tiger as fast as we could. The atmosphere was brilliant as every Aussie for miles around slowly packed their way into the bar to watch.
Initially there were lots of QLDers cheering but 15 minutes in it was all NSW! It was a bit of a non-event game being so one-sided but it was great to see the NSW guys come from behind. Also it was the first night Marg and I have been drunk since arriving in Thailand. I know, I know it doesn't sound like us but we've been really good and too tight to pay for beer. But with 3 beers in us we were trashed! We walked out grinning and went to find some arse blasting Thai curry for dinner...

You know an extra week in Ko Samui will cost you as much as a pint in a London pub......you might want to contemplate that whilst sunbaking on the beach, downing a few beers and listening to The Clash on those ipods ;)
