Koh Phangan

Well we managed to get a plane on Monday from Phuket to Koh Samui and
then a ferry packed with backpackers to Koh Phangan. The ferry ride
was absolutely beautiful. Everyone had a few beers and chatted as we
watched the sun set in the distance - it was so lovely!

We arrived in Koh Phangan quite late and it was already dark. We
managed to find a bus (which is really just some guys ute that he has
thrown a canopy and a couple planks of wood to sit on in the back) and
with 4 other people took off to Haan Yao beach which is the absolute
other end of the island to where the ferry dropped us.

It was an interesting trip. Our driver stopped half way and went into
a corner store, bought a beer and decided to drink it as he drove us
home!!! Oh well, we made it so it was all good!

The place we are staying is absolutely amazing. We are right on the
beach and have a lovely bungalow as you can see...

Last night we headed out for some drinks on the beach but had to head into the undercover bar due to a massive thunderstorm and another blackout. We met a couple of other Aussies and some German chicks and all ended up having dinner together. Here is a piccie of us after a couple too many Mekong Whiskies (thanks for putting us onto them Tom!)

Miss you all!

Marg and Wes

Tom we bought our first bottle of Mekong last night (we cut out the middle man finally) for $3.

Good stuff, tastes like bacardi though wich is weird but it sure does the trick!
