Egypt Day 6: Alexandria & Cairo + Wes' Birthday!

On our last day in Egypt we decided on a last minute trip to the coastal town of Alexandria and it was well worth the trip. We had a look through the Roman Catacombs before dipping our toes in the Mediterranean and enjoying some sun.

We then found an incredibly dodgy yet fabulous seafood 'restaurant' in the side streets and absolutely gorged ourselves on fish, calamari, prawns and octopus. Yum!

After digesting we headed to the famous Library of Alexandria. We looked at some very old books and were impressed by the beautiful architecture.

To celebrate our last night in Egypt and Wes' birthday, we headed out to the Marriott in Cairo (very la de da) with Matt and Lee, two blokes we met on the tour who are a great laugh. We proceded to have many a cocktail and shisha pipe (don't worry Mum - it was only Apple Tobacco and I didn't inhale). It was a great night out until we all realized we had no idea where we were staying and our poor taxi driver was stuck with 7 drunks in the back of the cab all yelling directions!

1) Wes, Matt & Lee. 2) Wes on the Apple Tobacco

3) Jodie & Marg 'not' inhaling
